Volunteer to Help
If you would like to help on any of the committees listed below, please contact any PTO officer.
All volunteers must fill out a volunteer form, which will go home with your students in the beginning of the school year. Forms can also be picked up in the office. If you can help at home or at school, please contact us.
Book Fair (Scholastic)- Helps setup and sell books and materials in fall & spring.
Carnival - Organizes and helps with games, prizes, food, and activities for the school carnival held in March or April
Directory of Students - Arranges information slips and publishes a directory of students.
Donuts at Dawn - Arranges doughnuts for students and Dads in October.
General Mills Box Tops for Education - Collects, cuts, counts, and bundles labels which are sent to sponsors in exchange for educational supplies.
Grade 5 Recognition - Parents whose children are in 4th grade plan a celebration for 5th graders. Held in June.
Hearing & Vision Screening - Assists with the testing of students in late September.
Campbell’s Labels for Education - Collects, cuts, counts, and bundles Campbell’s and other product UPC’s which are sent to sponsors in exchange for education supplies.
Lakeshore Spirit Wear - Coordinates orders of Lakeshore-wear with local screen printer.
Major Fall Fundraiser- helps organizes fundraiser, collect money and helps distribute items at pick up.
Muffins in the Morning - Arranges muffins for students and Moms. Held in May.
Nature Center - Oversee the development, care, and expansion of the nature area.
Art to Remember- Help children create a special art work that can be placed on mugs, t-shirts, aprons, garden flags and much more. Parents can order this art work in the spring.
Parent Representative - Become the Parent Representative on the Lakeshore PTO Board to ensure that parent input is part of PTO activities.
Pop Tops - Help make and distribute containers to hold soda pop tabs for each classroom to support the Ronald McDonald House. Also help with the periodic collection of the pop tops and delivery to the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee.
Scrip - Promotes, publicizes, orders, and distributes Scrip gift cards.
Scholarship Committee - Review scholarship applications and present a recommendation to the PTO in May.
School Pictures (Class) - Organizes paperwork, collects money, and helps the photographer.
School Pictures (Individual) - Assist photographer with children on picture day, usually in late September.
Staff Appreciation Luncheon - Helps organize a catered lunch in October
Teacher Appreciation Week - Helps coordinate luncheons to show our appreciation for our teachers and staff at Lakeshore.
Yearbook - Help with yearbook, collecting candid photos, ensuring that everyone is included in the yearbook. Also coordinates the ordering process.
